Perenco acquired its Tunisian assets back in July 2002. The company operates the concessions of El Franig and Baguel, located in central Tunisia. Perenco has steadily expanded in Tunisia, first by acquiring a 50% stake in the Ashtart concession in July 2017 and more recently in 2018, by acquiring a 45% share of Petrofac Tunisia and the Chergui field operation.

International Oilfield Services was invited to operate on the field shutdown operations and provided Pressure Test Services, Bolting and Torquing Services and Flange Facing Services.
